Right to life activist long ago stopped focusing on overturning Roe v. Wade, and turned their attention on legislation that would make abortion less accessible. The focus has been stunningly successful. In Mississippi, for example, where there used to be 14 clinics providing abortions, only one remains. Along with North and South Dakota it is one of three states with one clinic and no abortion providers who live in state.
The Republican anti-abortion strategy has had an ironic focus- government regulations that interfere in the private lives of citizens. Apparently big government isn’t a problem when it comes to interfering in the lives of women.
The following article is a personal introduction to some of the brave souls who face harrassment in order to provide reproductive health care to women.
