Why is it that poor countries seem to understand the worth of human life more than the rich ones? A wheelchair factory in Guatemala is giving out free wheelchairs to people who need them, and creating jobs for people with disabilities. Disability advocates are re-framing the topic of human rights. Without access, “human rights” is just a slogan. How many of our “unsolvable” social issues would vanish if we simply valued people over property?
